Thorney Park has a large and very beautiful lake, leased by the British Carp Study Group for angling. Dog walking is permitted, and the Colne Valley trail walking and cycling route runs through the park. There are occasional cars parked by the anglers, but it's very peaceful. Rabbits and squirrels can be seen in the scrubland Northwest of the lake, which is criss-crossed by grass paths. The path around the lake itself is packed clay, suitable for cycling and probably wheelchairs when it's dry in the summer. A tunnel under the M25 allows access to a path that runs around the fields south and west of the lake.
